Leading Technology Innovation in Medicine through Data Collection and Analysis, and AI Clinical Research

Data Collection & Analysis

VitalLab is focused on clinical research through artificial intelligence technology. Also, since AI without big data is useless, we are focusing on data collection and analysis and implementation of a big data system. We collect EMR and biosignal data from patients in Seoul Nation Univesity Hospital using VitalRecorder which is the World's first and leading biosignal data acquisition platform that has been built and developed by Prof. Lee from our lab.

AI Research in Medicine

We design, develop and refine AI models as conducting researches in medicine. For example, we have developed an AI-based clinical decision support system using our big data generated in real clinical environments such as ORs and ICUs. We conduct AI research that can solve clinical unmet needs through close collaboration with clinicians.

Development

The World's First and World's Leading Biosignal Data Acquisition Platform

VitalRecorder recording biosignals

VitalRecorder

VitalRecorder has been developed and managed by VitalLab to collect and analyze biosignal data at the hospital site and to support research for individual clinicians. It supports real-time biosignal data collection from patient monitors of various manufacturers such as Philips and GE, and provides a real-time biosignal streaming service in the VitalDB Web Monitoring page. Also, VitalRecorder supports Windows and Raspberry-pi.

As of 2021, VitalRecorder has been installed in 627 beds in Seoul National University Hospital and collected biosignal data, and it has been introduced to many other university hospitals and clinicians around the World and used for research.

VitalDB web monitoring

VitalDB

VitalLab develops and maintains VitalDB to provide VitalRecorder software and a real-time biosignal streaming service (Web Monitoring), and an open dataset of 6,388 surgical patients composed of intraoperative biosignals and clinical information collected in Seoul National University Hospital.

VitalDB dataset lowers barriers to access to high-resolution biosignal data and enables many institutions and researchers around the world to share and reuse resources.
